Fold up windows are a great option for a pass-through window. It is a commercial product used in a lot of restaurants and bars to join the inside to the outside for an open environment. We offer them in all aluminum frames, typically in black. With decades of experience here in Phoenix, we pride ourselves on having the knowledge and skill set to provide our customers with the most unique custom window products for their home.

Fold-up windows are specialty windows that are built on a limited basis. This makes them considerably more expensive than a regular window.

They are great for opening up to six feet wide for a single unit, but you can join two of them side by side with a post in between them. This will allow you to have a total of 12 feet of the wall open up to the patio. They can fold up to the inside or the outside, but we recommend having them fold up to the outside for air infiltration.

Fold up windows can be a better choice than a bi-folding window (link to page) or a pop-up (also known as a gas piston awning window) (link to page), if there is limited clearance on the outside to park the sashes when in the open position. They fold in the middle so a four feet tall window would only stick out two feet to the outside. A four-foot-tall pop-up window would project out four feet.

The only disadvantage to folding up in the middle is the horizontal bar in the middle. It can significantly distract from the view when the window is in the closed position. A pop-up window has no bar so it provides an open view when open or closed.
